CRISTINA VALADAS's Exhibition in Paris, Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, Maison du Portugal, 19 May to 5 July 2018.
A story by Cristina Valadas, a Portuguese plastic artist, written with paintings and boxes of light.
"The voyage to the dark room is a trip to the innermost of a human being and a struggle with his most reserved and inaccessible secrets. As cleared by the title of the exhibition, this brave and persistent inner search is also the purpose of Cristina Valadas own words: our most inner fears rooted and stagnant in time, are like ropes around our neck which sometimes drag us in such a crushing way that our eyes loose loose the ability of reflecting the Soul, and become dim. We loose the ability of finding interior peace. Once you observe and bring your fears to the light, they are taken to pieces and crumble like card castles...
So, we see how art faces human existence and its most obscure corners, and in an utmost cleared way allows to grant them a visual dimension, conferring them shapes and transforming them into figures...
