Shot

When I was seven, my grandfather Salvador, on my father's side, told me stories about the civil war. He war a lieutenant gunsmith and fought with republicans. When the war was finished my grandfather came back to Alcoy and opened a gun shop. My father, Salvador too, crew up with him in that business together. They repaired different kinds of guns, such as small guns, shot guns, rifles, etc. And they sold cartridges, guns and hunting clothes. Today, about 20 years after, my grandfather died, my brother, Salvador too, has continued with the business next to my father. My name isn't Salvador, I'm Juan Carlos and I don't work with my father or my brother, I'm a photographer. I consider myself a portrait painter of feelings. When my heart beats at the sight of something, I need to impress that into a photograph. This project shows my family, presenting their work with guns and the culture of hunting. My family's passion was always hunting, but not mine. Hence, this different angle of seeing things. "Armeria Salvador Climent", three generations until today.
