These images were taken in two different places dedicated to the extraction of palm oil in Ghana. One is located in the Western Region, near the cities of Senkondi and Takoradi. The other one is in the Eastern Region of the country, near the city of Koforidua.
The extraction of palm oil is a very important source of income for African countries that exploit this type of resource. These crops have profound ecological consequences for these countries, such as the lost of forests.
When you arrive at these places, the first thing you notice is the heat given off by the large pots placed on the fire, where the palm oil is diluted.
The working conditions are very hard for the people who carry out these tasks, the salaries and the price per liter are very low, in comparison with the market price.
