From my work "Post Production Life".
Several visits to a deserted town in the Arctic.Photographic language tell us how personal desires and random decay proved Soviet Utopia of total equalitarism.
Built from a blank piece of paper, the few dorm buildings are identical to each other.Apartments have the same layout, same corridors, same common areas, same stairs... and left behind furniture of a short variety,a handful of painted papers that, with bad taste and exciteness, covered walls and ceilings and some vinyl floors pretending wood and other more noble materials.
I gave this work the name as a gesture to this town life after coal production ceased and at the same time an allusion to this common term in photography nowadays instead of the old-fashioned "development" or "processing",which take us to the jargon of Photographic language.
These buildings within their environments look like Land Art works. Perhaps there is no longer a wall between branches of art.
Photograohs are not only linked by visual similaritiy.Their strength belongs to the Photography conceived as a Meta-Language,the one which is able to create metaphors about itself.Even dealing with reality, it is no longer a window or a mirror to it.It uses reality as a tool like letters, syliables and words:to construct a message which is much more than the sum of its single parts.
