While shooting this series I’ve experienced a profound and emotional incursion into the past. A warm reminder of the people that still live here and the beloved ones that passed and will live forever in my memory. It’s amazing how these places still carry on their energy and continue being charming and inspiring just by not being changed or altered over time.
Each of these rooms, furniture pieces and objects I’ve composed my series with (the first 6 frames) are being kept together and taken care of by my grandmother. The following 4 frames are shot in another house, with a different grandmother while remembering stories from the past with her niece. I was lucky enough to be there, listen and observe, also to having bought my cameras I used for capturing some frames in both digital and film.
Hopefully I’ve succeeded in passing on some of that magic into my photos and inspire one to go back to the roots and use photography or other forms of Art in the favour of preserving the past.
