The series uses photogrammetry, a technology at the interface between photography and CGI, to create detailed, reef-like compositions, in which space and matter become richly intertwined. It continues the branch of modern art that uses collages, montages and assemblages to reflect the dense, contradictory nature of modern reality but expands it to encompass the dimension of the virtual. Photogrammetry, which is both used by the gaming industry and science for the documentation of objects, is here transformed into a sensitive aesthetic apparatus that explores the field of tension between reality and the virtual. Within this field of tension something new shines through that neither photography nor the medium painting have yet been able to capture.
