Mojave Desert: The Built Landscape

On the margins of the Mojave Desert, communities have grown out of rock and sand. These towns have built a variety of structures to accommodate the demands of a harsh environment, and complicated political and socioeconomic and cultural strata. These structures were not here 70 years ago, and they will likely not be here in 40 years. This landscape deserves attention.
