Severe weather in all its forms carries intense destructive power but is also the manifestation of physics and water over long distances. The scale over which these storms form is almost impossible to capture on film. I attempt to bring that grandeur to scale, to fit within the frames of an image, but nevertheless distill the spirit of these transient phenomena to life for the viewer. My hope is that others will see not so much the destructive force of nature, but the awe and wonderment of staggeringly large canvases that nature paints on--only to evaporate away minutes later.
