Special World

Drawn from a variety of archival sources the images in the project "Special World" have been reworked by the artist to tell personal stories of family, friendship, love and loss. The pictures are presented in black-and-white with a deliberately placed area of color in each. This aims to reinforce a sense of nostalgia implicit in the subject matter, to emphasise the textural and tonal quality of the images and to allow the artist to highlight and draw the viewer's gaze towards the critical part of the image. The artist wants the viewer to consider how experiences of family, friendship, love and loss are all implicit in the realization of ones own Special World.
