"Same Tree, Different Day" is a 365-day project in which I photographed a tree from my backyard. The original goal was to create a unique photograph of the same subject from the same angle every day for one year. Not only did I reach this objective, but I learned valuable lessons in mindfulness and creating a connection between me and my subject. I also discovered that having a daily goal was an effective way to manage my depression. Since the completion of the photography portion of this project, I have lectured often about the things that I learned in order to inspire others to complete similar projects, reach their goals and improve their mental health. I plan to create a meditation DVD with a slideshow that contains all of the daily images and speak to audiences at national conferences. Thank you for the opportunity to submit a few of the photos from this collection.
