horror vacui

The work horror vacui consists of a series of still lifes. 20 photographies that make up a playful study of forand background. Placed upon patterned backdrops are the remains of everyday objects. Scattered and empty they lack all function. They are caught in a state of material disintegration. Together they melt into a new visual unit. My main interest lies in the objects materiality and their backgrounds as well as their symbiosis. Another important aspect refers to the patterns ability to occupy visual space. The result is an interplay between filled and empty spaces.
