“Going deeper, referring to the device itself: In its outward appearance, in its object and action condition, the embroidery might be a too literal metaphor for the feminine and the feminity. Tied to the concept of home, it is seemingly delicate, but it is the expression of a wound. Not many things in the decorative world have a process so different from its result. The embroidery is fragile as well as hard; in its entirety, it is made by countless punctures that damage the fabric. In the embroidery, neither a pencil nor a paintbrush is used: It is closer to a scar or a tattoo than to a painting. A piece of fabric that, in its search for giving back beauty –in the most decorative sense of the word– finds itself irrevocably damaged." (El ojo del huracán, Lola Sasturain)
