My anxiety seems to heighten all my senses, which make my daily tasks difficult because I feel like I'm getting overloaded with information all the time. When it gets to much for me to handle, I'll get a panic attack. This generally happens once or twice a day, but like most people I have good days and bad days. On good days I try and get out of the house to shoot, this project started that way. When I feel good I still feel like my senses are heightened, it makes the places I see almost every day seem unearthlike. Probably because my head is free to wander and play. When I dare to be vulnerable and just enjoy myself I truly come alive. Being able to be vulnerable and not ashamed is so important to our happiness.
And I’d like to show people that although an illness or condition makes you feel (very) limited, it can have positive side effects. You need to be willing to look for them, it’s so easy to get stuck in the bad, but in my opinion it’s worth a try. It could change the way you feel about your life considerably.
Format:
Life-sized and bigger, meaning that the model in the pictures should be atleast life-size. Pictures must vary in size.
Presentation:
The pictures should be presented without a frame on matching colourful walls. You should feel (a little) overwhelmed when walking in (and out) the exhibition space. They shouldn’t be presented in a clear rhythm, it may look chaotic. Maybe some images can overlap.
