Grasstrack Speedway - England's Oldest Motorsport
Grasstrack speedway is Britain’s oldest form of motorcycle racing and was the incubator for many of motorsports greats, including Bernie Ecclestone and Murray Walker. Performed on an oval dirt track the sport matured in rural Britain between the wars, following a seasonal calendar to coincide with haymaking and before harvest.
