In Kobe in 2018, I did a photo session with Dancer Okuda Junko.
There are several spaces formed by concrete walls and staircases, which is characteristic of Ando architecture, in the park beside the art museum, which was designed after the Great Hanshin Awaji earthquake by Tadao Ando. A dancer performed in front of my camera in front of the wall near the circular stage made as a place for disaster prevention and citizen's rest.
A dancer dances even if there is no audience. It is the movement of the soul.
What did the performance that started without a prior meeting express using a piece of cloth and wind?
The only spectator and a photographer I felt was a story of 're-birth'.
As if as if to lurk inside the cocoon, from the appearance of the five senses closed and crouched, the body starts to move faster and turns into a movement that releases the inner self with the wind.
I think that the task of burning artistic performance performed by a single dancer on a plane is also one artistic act given to the expression method of photographs.
