“What is born underwater remains underwater”
It is said that on the full moon nights, the spirits of the swamp go out to hunt tormented souls, but of course, only the very few who have seen it can tell. Still, this lands of the south of the island emanate a scent of revenge and envy...but also of patience and smiles alike, as little or nothing matters when one is close to the fire and can be fed for one more day...
The misery remains in their faces...
There was a time in which the peasants worked the land previously hitting the hard stones that, for centuries, remained under the waters that covered this part of the South of the island of Palma de Mallorca, in the Mediterranean sea.
But this was just before the massive influx of tourists in the 1970s. Since then, everything has changed. Some lands were abandoned to focus the island's progress in the new dream...
As giants of an ancient book, the old windmills, used to dry the swamp and build the village, still remains, most of them abandoned, waiting the for the day that the same wind will make them fall down. Meanwhile, the spiritual isolation of it's inhabitants seems that always have been there.
Through the history of the swamp, the bones and the night of the witches, Badlands became a fortress of the imaginary world that lives beside the other reality.
