We are all clay. I wanted to explore the emotions of personal trials visually represented, by clay and the natural obstacles persistent in our world. Life and our experiences shape and mold us. It is our trials that shape us the most. They leave the deepest scars and fissures on our souls. We overcome our obstacles and live, but the struggle remains with us. These moments of trials shape us, more than our happiest experiences. My artwork takes a step back to show the internal that cannot be seen. I invite the viewer to feel and speculate. I rely on our common understanding of trial and suffering to move the viewer. The process is both cathartic and traumatic for the viewer and participants. The trials of the participants are just as vital, as the images created while they are sharing their pain.
