We Can Be Heroes

I am always carrying around a camera documenting a moment that happens on the streets as Its important for photographers to be capture the times we live in. The photos were taken as part of 64 page photo book that documents the 36 Hollywood honourees who stars still remain on the Walk of Fame even though they have been accused of crimes of rape, sexual assault, harassment, domestic abuse and even murder. Taking photos of the Superheroes on the walk of fame was to add familiarity to the location so that people who had not been to the Hollywood Walk of Fame could visualize the setting. I wanted to take the piece in the direction of the everyday women who worked as character actors on the strip too, they are the hero figures here. With the #metoo movement taking stride in Hollywood after Harvey Weinstein was accused my multiple actresses of rape, harassment and assault, the industry has had to take a hard look at itself and take serious action which has been implemented but the Walk of Fame has been overlooked by its president and refuses to remove stars.
