A day in the urban life (human, after all)

Modern urban environments are planned as living machines for humans considered as machines and are inhospitable. It is possible for humans to protest that sorry state of affairs and reclaim the humanity of urban environments without resorting to images of trees and flowers, kitsch, post-modern ugliness and cynicism or indeed images of humans. Instead, we can try do do this with images in the most humanistic traditions of modernism: minimalist and lyrical abstractions that free us of the plans managers have hatched for us.
