Some of these 10 images are part of my Flow and Reflections series that offers delicate, at times dreamy, black-and-white scenes of a photographic journey through Russia, Cuba, Belgium, and the United States. They were first presented in my debut exhibition in Moscow, Russia on March 13–15, 2015 ; and published in my eponymous first book photo-album in December 2017.
The images of dance are the closest to my heart. I have been fascinated by the aesthetics of movement ever since I discovered Russian ballet as a child. With a Certificate in Ballet from New York’s Peridance Capezio Center, and Adult figure skating training, I am a lifelong admirer of dance and ice performers. My practice and personal study of their technique and artistry are reflectedin my photography of professional dancers, figure skaters, and ice dancers in these 10 images, which range from a ballet class in Havana, Cuba, to Street Styles showcases in New York, pole dance and figure skating competitions in France, and Zulu dances in Swaziland, Africa.
