Unfinished Japan Project

Tokyo is the world's most populous metropolitan city. It has more than seven times the population of my entire country and I had never felt so alone. I found myself coping with this deep sense of isolation with my camera. At first I thought I was shielding myself with it, but as the collection of images grew I realised I was reaching out in a way I couldn't with language. Seeing my isolation reflected back at me or taking vicarious pleasure in the acts of communion around me. Often finding both in the same frame sums up one of the dichotomies of life in the loneliest, busiest city.
