In this slot canyon series, I present painterly portraits of the natural environment with unidentifiable elements and no sense of scale or orientation. Using only natural light and an extreme B&W technique focusing on leading lines and partial tone inverting, these photos display a theatrical play of enigmatic silhouettes made of dramatic shadows and vibrant highlights. They call for imagination that leads to a narrative experience for the viewer around sexual and racial questions. The tile of the story is "The Weird Encounter".
