The Luddites were here

Composite, blended images that are a combination of recently taken photographs and archive images from the collection of Kirklees metropolitan council. The project has as a starting point the 200th anniversary of the Luddite movement and the inseparable links the Luddites have with the textile industry and the Colne valley. West Yorkshire. England. I wanted to take a look at the remains of this once massive regional textile industry, 200 years from the Luddites, and 100 years from the coal fired boom years.
