Here & Now

This project was developed in Belgrade and has become a kind of question of how people behave in their normal environment, photographed from the distance, without knowing they’re being observed and photographed, turning myself into a viewer and then photographer. We are all playing a roll, wearing a mask which depends on the place and the time. I wanted to picture that in a natural way, the mask that the people in my images are wearing at that specific place and time. How they relate to the environment they are in that very right moment, somehow as a theater play in a big stage, is something I was very interested to show. Some of my photos are taken in natural situations and others are constructed, the idea is to mix the concept of playing a role in space and time, that the viewer doesn’t know at all what kind of play is observing in the photo, what kind of mask it is, so therefore the viewer can make another story, create another play in his/her mind.
