The intent of this self-portrait series is to document the shedding of irrational fears that each and every one of us share in the essence of being human and which are based solely on self-perceptions. The series illustrates the subject in his imagined version of his most primal self, in an effort to strip away all barriers and walls - built to hide insecurities, self-perceived flaws, and banal, quotidian activities, which he otherwise actively shrouds in an impervious and mysterious veil of privacy.
The second segment of the series, in which the subject is engaging the camera, captures his acknowledgement of the intrusion of that fiercely guarded privacy, yet does so in a manner that challenges the viewer to accept the subject simply as he is: his most imperfect self.
(n.b. The series is meant to be presented in two rows, from red (left) to purple (right), with the top row being comprised of the photos in which the subject does not engage the camera)
