The starting attraction of the carnival is the passage of more than 500 busós in rowboats on the Danube.

Masks are usually carved from willow-wood or lime-wood which are easy to work with, and painted with pig blood.

Traditionally the festival is not exempt from sexaul allusions (appearing in the form of signs, shouts, carved fallic motives) to stimulate the fertility of the coming spring. (The sign says: "Instant and free breast-inspection")

Fire is the most spectacular attraction of the festival. As the tradition outgrow itself, sometimes there are so many visitors, that the whole event is hardly enjoyable anymore.
