Silent Walls

Our society is changing and because of this change our stories change from the time before. Using a Mamiya camera with black and white film, I photo- graph the remains of derelict limestone homesteads. It is important to share the history of the lifestyles of homesteaders that used limestone to create their life in a time of hardship. I take an investigative approach towards this project by interviewing the people that own the land the property sits on. One of my favorite photos that I captured includes a broken rocking chair under a collapsed ceiling. The photo describes a story about the how times have changed.
