Matteo

Matteo is a boy born in 2001 with CHARGE syndrome who attends the high school. CHARGE is an acronym that combines the initials of English words indicating the association of pathologies through which this syndrome typically manifests itself. The disease is still partially unknown even in the medical field, because of its complexity. People with Charge Syndrome, if properly assisted and educated, can achieve good results in the fundamental stages of their development and their lives. Often they have qualities, as in the case of Matteo, to be successful, provided they are given an opportunity. Matteo spends most of his time at school where he lives some moments of isolation due to his sensory limits because he sees and hears just a little, he expresses himself with a language that initially is not easy to understand and consequently he often finds himself isolated. He has a special relationship with light and sound, he has a good memory, he's nice, affectionate and often seeks physical contact with people who are close to him. He writes a lot and keeps a notebook of dreams in which he recounts his fantasies, but he's also and above all a free spirit, full of curiosity, free from patterns, fashions and conditioning that boys of his age typically have, not a prisoner of social cages that all of us we have. He is a person who lives his condition without complexes in a serene way. And this is the image of him that I would like to share with those who see the shots I made for him and with him.
