My Sisters and I

An ongoing project surrounding the opportunities domestic spaces provide as a psychological tool, this project features Julia's sisters in a series of staged portraits. Whilst Julia remains behind the camera, she has attempted to illustrate aspects of her own identity, and the relationship between the sisters, whilst using the family home they grew up in as a backdrop to contextualize the narrative. Julia was initially inspired by the work of Sally Mann when she was eighteen years old. Due to her emotional reaction to Mann's work, Julia has paid homage to Mann in certain images in this series. Julia has also taken inspiration from other fine art pieces in this series.
