The photographs I present in this series document the mundane task of walking to the market to get groceries for the next few days. But this trip is made special by the fact that two Shangazis (aunties) and a handsome cousin are visiting from Canada. The pictures seize moments that are both public and private, both mercantile and tender exchanges, set in an impossibly scenic landscape and free of the sensory overload of the North American spectacle of shopping and commercialism
