These images are part of a larger, multi-media body of work titled "Unforgotten, Grandmother's Vanity, Grandfather's Toilette, Child's Play". Derived from the privacy of my grandparents' home, implements of personal hygiene and embellishment represent the process of grooming for day and evening. Fabric handkerchiefs are the base medium for cyanotypes imprinted with reminders of daily ablutions. Contact prints result in ghostly images of the familiar - eye cup, nasal atomizer, pickup sticks - venerated in the stains of indigo photograms. I invite the viewer to take delight in these ironic monuments of the ordinary.
