Theatre in the House of The Dead: A Liminal Space
Theatre in Russian Prison 2009, Perm, Urals. Part of Territoria Theatre Festival Director: Alex Dower of Creating Freedom Photographer & Assistant Director: Sebastian Lister The first time theatre/the arts have been used to rehabilitate inmates in Russia on such a large scale. One prison actor was offered a professional acting role following his participation in the performance. International statistics show that similar projects significantly reduce rates of reoffending. A multi layered project uniting activism with aesthetics, photo book due to be published 2016.
