Simon Townshend receives rave reviews for his work as guitarist and vocalist. When not performing with The Who, his hectic schedule includes solo, sold out shows. When touring in the U.S. Simon and I had a session in Boston to do the cover of his now released album, Bare Essence. Obviously Simon was after a certain look for the cover, but he he kept that a secret from me during our shoot. He liked the vintage cameras, and said his father had a camera similar to my Rollei. The five shots are of Simon's many different personas. Indeed, he was a good subject! He liked the quality of film and chose photograph, Simon 5, the one with him holding the pick for the album's cover. As a side-bar, the pick Simon's holding is called the Derby No-Slip and is an invention of mine.
