Urban Journal is a multi-volume book.. As Cartier-Bresson said, one way to use photography is as a sketchbook. These particular pictures are not planned, rather encountered as I go about my day and quickly organized in the camera's window.
Many from this set were taken at the May Day Cafe, less than 3 blocks from my lab. "Home Base" refers simply to this group of 23 photographs all being taken in Minneapolis, between trips. The first book of the 3 volume set includes many of these photographs, and the other two volumes concentrate on night and Dublin. More volumes will follow, one at a time.
I learn about myself from looking at my photos. For instance, I might have a sense of humor; and I'm pretty sure I like ,dogs, reflections, pattern, texture, and interactions with people.
