One of the privileges travel bestows is the ability to meet people, if even for a moment. While visiting the cities of Kolkata and Varanasi, I used my camera to memorialize some of the men, women and children I met as I walked neighborhood lanes. It always amazes me how much information can be shared between individuals in a split second. For me, portraits transform strangers into real people.
