Out and about with my Nikon FM2n or Mamiya C330, I got the idea to focus upon modern urban street scenes in a large Chinese city. China has undergone an accelerated societal change in many ways as people migrate from rural to urban areas bringing their distinct dialects and behaviours. Furthermore, the growing wealth of more and more Chinese gives this society more buying power allowing them to acquire the same technologies we enjoy in Canada.
However, amongst the many things I observe here, the handling of laundry is a positive one. Everyone here seems to hang laundry out to dry. Thus, many of my images reflect this environmental sound behaviour within slightly differing urban contexts.
