DENPASAR - KUTA CITY ROCK seeks to document the underground movement of Indonesian rockers, artists, and musicians residing in Kuta, on Bali’s southern coast. A former sleepy fishing village, Kuta has now burgeoned into a tourist hot-spot where travelers galore come to revel in the surf and sounds of the Indonesian paradise. While not positioned as a distinct juxtaposition to this lifestyle, the ink-laden subjects of KUTA CITY ROCK do represent something else, something more authentic, as we gaze at these faces between the hardcore headbangings rippling through the infamous Twice Bar.
