Being a photographer in Cuba is a rewarding but challenging experience. It is sometimes hard to capture the streets, the people and the reality of daily life without making a statement about poverty or the daily struggles of the average Cuban. But Cuba is much more than that. The challenge is — even with all the noise — to capture and immortalize the essence of Cuba and its people: the happiness, the sense of humor, the resilience, the hope and the desire to overcome the harsh trials of Cuban life.
