The objective is to reconstitute photographically the way in which baroque artists represented the light in their paintings, in order to evaluate how much the works of great painters are still an important reference for the contemporary photographers.
Therefore, to obtain a reliable reproduction of the original works, studio photography techniques will be used, with flashes, reflectors and softboxes. However, the major challenge may be to visually reconstruct the time and personality of each person portrayed, characters from a rich historical period in which the word painting was almost confused with the portrait genre.
As the light in the pictures of the great masters is still reproduced now, this is another argument that the teaching of photography should not be dissociated from the teaching of Art History
