Collect/Disperse is a site-specific installation and performance located in Provincetown, at the very tip of Massachusetts.
I have invited artists to participate by mailing or dropping off plates to me in Provincetown. The plates will be broken down during a performance in Autumn of 2015 and dispersed on site to become part of the landscape. Each person that gives a plate is considered a contributing artist and will receive a weathered shard in return.
The current iteration of Collect/Disperse was created in response to the rising water line and loss of history due to encroaching gentrification.
In this work I have applied the logic of archaeology against the idiosyncrasies of personality to understand the mysterious actions of an eccentric historian.
