Sierra Leone

The people of Sierra Leone have a rich culture and deep religious and spiritual roots. It is one country where both Islam and Christianity not only live in harmony, but thrive together. Men and women from both faiths inter marry and even attend one another's places of worship. The country has experienced slavery, British rule and civil war and has come out of the other side proud and with their heads held high. Since mid 2014 the country has been the centre of attention for overseas aid when an outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease breached their borders. The people of this fine and beautiful land are resilient and un-phased by virus and with the help of the British and other international communities and None Governmental Organisation they are now on the road to zero. I want to show this resilience through my work.
