It is always difficult to make a definitive art statement but it is my intention to share my own brand of Seeing, a view of the world that is at once beautiful, but also starkly real, with some humor or pathos and often an element of surprise. The anomaly of an image that provides something familiar but also unexpected strikes me and I guess I hope it would translate to a viewer in the same unique way, somehow requiring a second look or ‘aha’ moment. Or evoke a mood. I tend to work in series as a subject captures my attention. The latest that followed the Orchid Requiem and Naked Lunch series which were digitally altered are from a return to the camera and include: The Trees; The Tides: The Islands, and others.
