Rala Choi (b.1987) based in Seoul and mainly works in analog photography, the image-making process begins with exploring his innermost thoughts and feelings. Portraying universal human emotions, Choi brings to life scenes he has previously sketched. Rala was recently awarded the Grand Prix at the 37th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories, Hyères. Choi’s auction debut with ‘a woman lying on the sofa’ which soared to £27,940, over double the estimate at Phillips’ Photographs Auction in May 2023.
