Ramize Erer is one of the first and most acclaimed female and feminist cartoonists in Turkey. Starting her career in the satirical magazine scene of Istanbul, she became well known for her bold and brutally honest caricatures depicting the experience and sexuality of Turkish women. After moving to Paris in the 2010, she picked up painting for the first time since her studies in fine arts at the Mimar Sinan academy in Istanbul. Her portraits depicting the innocence and aesthetics of youth have been exhibited in several galleries. Back in Istanbul, she picked up photography as a hobby which quickly became a new and experimental medium to explore similar themes.
