Renata Dutrée graduated from the Photo Academy in Amsterdam in December 2019. She specializes in Fine Art photography and turns her gaze towards the feminine side of things.
She places her subject in the middle of an idea. That idea emulates from that photographed person. By playing a role, the real self comes out even more.
You have this first glance and then there is a sense of apprehension that fills the compositions – objects act as metaphors for something else happening beyond the frame. Drawing the eye through bold aesthetics, colors and props, the images then reveal a deeper truth. Telling a story that is more than just a pretty picture. The narrative often gently unfolds in the expressions of the subjects or in their postures. There is a sense of mystery, things unrevealed. It evokes feelings of longing, escape and might-have-beens.
