About Sari Sutton

Sari Sutton’s photographic practice explores questions of time, space and the human impact upon the earth. She has a particular interest in current social, economic and environmental themes, order and randomness, the otherworldly and surreal. An astute observer of human behaviour and how it reveals itself in the landscape, her work demonstrates a curiosity about human progress, transience, renewal and transformation. Spanning documentary, collage, staged and conceptual, her work demonstrates insight into the state of the world, power, agency, choice and consequence – and the forces that shape our experience of being human.

Sari is a member of the Unexposed Collective of Australian women and non-binary street photographers. Her work has been exhibited in Australia and internationally, and has been recognised in the Head On Photo Awards, Australian Life competition, Australian Photography Awards, and the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) (2020 Silver medallist and 2021 State of the World shortlisted artist). She was also a finalist in the 1854/ British Journal of Photography 2021 'Edition365' awards and virtual New Art City exhibition.
