About Scott Conarroe

Scott Conarroe (b. Canada, 1974) studies landscape and the built environment. He's looked at North America along its rail infrastructure and coastline perimeter, at China against the backdrop of a high speed rail expansion, and at the moveable borders Alps nations devised in response to glacial melting and watershed drift.

Scott has an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. His work has been collected by the National Gallery of Canada, Stadt Zürich, and the Carnegie Museum of Art. He's received numerous awards including grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the 2011 Duke and Duchess of York Prize for Photography, and a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. His monograph By Rail and By Sea was one of Photo-Eye's "Best Books of 2016".

Scott Conarroe is represented by Stephen Bulger Gallery.
