About Silvia Crippa

I have a degree in Modern Literature with a thesis in Aesthetics.
I worked as a journalist and currently I dedicate myself to teaching. I have some personal and collective exhibitions, the last of which in Milan and Turin (May and October 2018). In April 2019 I was present at Arte Fiera Cremona.
Words and images are two ways of reading the world that intertwine in my works. The starting point is a photographic shot which is then combined, with the collage technique, graphic elements and texts. These are stolen shots, images that I come across, coherently with the idea that it is not always necessary to look for meaning, but it is enough to know how to look. Philosophy that also applies to the media chosen for the images: cartons and waste from industrial production.
In my works they speak the shouted rage of the tore, the courage of what remains, the salvation of the word, the look, which finds hope in the images.
