I grew up in Perth, Australia. I gained a BA (Visual Arts) in glass and photomedia from Canberra School of Art, Australia, and an MA in photographic studies from the University of Westminster, UK. I have also lived in London, UK and Paris, France and I have had work featured in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Germany, Denmark, The USA and Australia.
I am attracted to odd scenes or details that other people overlook. My eyes are naturally drawn to light and shade and I am fascinated by the way light can transform a scene or an object. I generally take photographs intuitively in my everyday environment: my home, street or local area. I play with these images of random objects, odd scenes and figures, placing them alongside each other until they seem to fit together. My work explores family life, domestic drudgery, mindfulness, dreams, and beauty in the everyday. It is purposefully ambiguous to allow viewers a space to project their own ideas and daydreams into the work.
