About Taro Karibe
Taro Karibe (b.1988) is a Japanese photographer based in Tokyo, Japan.
After he received a Bachelor of Psychology at Nanzan University in 2012, he started working for a commercial bank as a corporate sales manager and system developer.
In 2015, he started a career as a freelance Photographer in Tokyo, Japan. His main concern is to document social issues from psychological perspective.
His works have been published internationally in publication such as The New York Times, British Journal of Photography,The Telegraph, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Chicago Tribune, The guardian, and so on.
He is the winner of PDN Photo Annual (Photojournalism/ Documentary category), PX3 The Prix de la Photographie Paris (Portrait category, Bronze prize) in 2017, and Critical Mass Top 50 in 2016. His works are permanently collected by the Municipal museum of Fine Arts in Nizhny Tagil, Russia.
